Questo bronzo (14,35 g, 26 mm, 12 h) acquistato da Nomisma 101 dieci anni fa è attribuito sul cartellino al re numida Micipsa (148-118 a. C.), con riferimento bibliografico Sear 6597. Ho visto però che l’attribuzione è incerta tra Micipsa e suo padre Massinissa (203-148 a. C.) che l’ha preceduto sul trono di Numidia. Inoltre la tipologia del bronzo è “As - Massinissa or Micipsa with pellet” (Laureate, bearded head left/Prancing horse left, pellet below), per distinguerlo da “As - Massinissa or Micipsa with punic letters” (Laureate and bearded male head left/Horse rearing left; punic letters below. GRIECHISCHE MÜNZEN NUMIDIA Könige von Numidien Massinissa (203-148) oder Micipsa (148-118) (D) Bronze (16,04g), unbekannte Münzstätte. Av.: Kopf des Königs (?) mit Lorbeerkranz n.l.
