Bronzo di Micipsa o di Massinissa?

Salve.

Questo bronzo (14,35 g, 26 mm, 12 h) acquistato da Nomisma 101 dieci anni fa è attribuito sul cartellino al re numida Micipsa (148-118 a. C.), con riferimento bibliografico Sear 6597.

Ho visto però che l’attribuzione è incerta tra Micipsa e suo padre Massinissa (203-148 a. C.) che l’ha preceduto sul trono di Numidia.

Inoltre la tipologia del bronzo è “As - Massinissa or Micipsa with pellet” (Laureate, bearded head left/Prancing horse left, pellet below), per distinguerlo da “As - Massinissa or Micipsa with punic letters” (Laureate and bearded male head left/Horse rearing left; punic letters below. Lettering: MN).

In questo esemplare si notano dei globetti anche sulle zampe anteriori del cavallo.

Su questo esemplare (Rauch 97) c’è un bel globetto anche sull’orecchio del sovrano, a mo’ di orecchino.

Al solito intervengo anch'io chiedendo se per caso Massinissa ha un globetto e Micipsa no. Ho sempre creduto che non fossero identificabili. Sono state da me catalogate così:

Le tre prime Massinissa, le tre ultime Micipsa

Laureate head left / Horse leaping left; Punic "MN" below; on horse’s body, horned and bearded head of Ammon left within incuse square countermark. MAA 12a; SNG Copenhagen 514-5. VF, brown patina, some striking weakness.
