To be considered as almost Mint State! This absolutely splendid aureus has been perfectly preserved over time, allowing us to admire the superb engraving of the details. There is a slight striking defect, with the grenetis on both sides largely flattened. However, this has not altered the captions or the central engravings. The portrait, depicting the empress Bruttia Crispina with her hair in a large bun at the back of her head. This hairstyle served as a model for all the women of Roman high society, who wanted to get as close as possible to the model spread by the portrait of the empress. On the reverse, a superb representation of Venus, under her epiclesis "Felix", the Lucky One, combining her attribute with the ones of the goddess Fortuna. Her representation is in perfect harmony with her attributes: she is the one who brings Victory, as shown by her outstretched hand brandishing a small Victory. Also a symbol of Love, she is associated with the dove beneath her throne. Moreover, at the end of the Republic, powerful men such as Sylla, Pompey and Caesar made themselves the goddess's favourites and protégés. Augustus took up this theme by placing his dynasty under the protection of the goddess. It would seem that imperial families have maintained this tradition of associating Venus with the protection of members of the dynasty, such as the empress here. Buonasera a tutti, mi sono appena iscritto al forum e presentato poco fa. Avrei bisogno di un'informazione su una piccola collezione di francobolli di mio padre, ma non posso ancora postare nella sezione filatelia e quindi mi è stato suggerito intanto di scrivere qua. Ho fatto le foto alle pagine del raccoglitore, vi sarei grato se potessi avere un'indicazione sull'eventuale valore che possono avere questi francobolli, non intendendomi (per il momento) della materia. Esattamente, la tua è una 259c, nessuna svista, so leggere e rimango "sveglio" anche quando dormo. E che mi piacerebbe vedere una 259b....che personalmente non ne ho mai visto un pezzo e neppure citata nel Gigante come variante. Se qualcuno del forum ne ha una in collezione e vuole pubblicare una foto sarebbe interessante, per tutti non solo per me. Grazie a chi vuole collaborare e non sempre promuovere polemiche inutili al forum.

La moneta è autentica ed in alta conservazione, direi SPL+. I segnettini da contatto (in numero limitato) ed il bordo coi colpettini sono la norma, così come il sottopancia debole (è ben marcato nelle prove e negli esemplari di primo conio). Piuttosto, sembra presente un colpetto "fuori norma" ad ore 9 del rovescio, che andrebbe valutato direttamente.
