But—and we know this too well in the American Midwest, where tornados routinely end or upend people’s lives—that long after the TV cameras have left town, long after the print reporters have taken their pens and notepads elsewhere, the people who have been affected by these events remain affected, often for many years afterward. So I write this small note, to express my continuing good wishes to those folks working through the many challenges that face them because of the terrible earthquake last month. v. 4 Cita
