RRC 92/1B

Come ho scritto qualche post fa sto approfondendo l'enigmatico mondo dei vittoriati.

Poiché mi sto costruendo un dbase con i vari pesi delle varie emissioni , mi è capitato questa estate di vedere in asta bertolami un vittoriato presentato come RRC 53/1 che mi sembrava invece per caratteristiche il 92/1B di zecca incerta , ma ipotizzata in area brettia. Per intenderci la moneta senza  la legenda CROT che compare in RRC 92/1A.

La moneta è andata invenduta (ha suscitato dubbi?) e dopo un mesetto dopo la fine dell'asta , considerato che il prezzo era abbordabile l'ho presa come invenduto, molto raramente acquisto monete. Vorrei condividere con gli esperti di questa monetazione, per avere qualche impressione, considerando che dalle ricerche effettuate ne ho trovati veramente pochissimi.

Allego per comodità di confronto dello stile anche un RRC 92/1A

Yes, RRC 92/1b exists and is about the same size as RRC92/1a.  My database has ~20 examples and 8 dies.

A me la tua classificazione dembra corretta. quanto pesa?

pesa 3,06 grammi, il fatto che non è una moneta così comune anzi, aveva una base d'asta direi bassa e non c'è stata alcuna offerta mi ha un po' stupito.

a me francamente lo stile e il peso sono sembrati assolutamente in linea con la tipologia

I am happy to see that someone purchased that example. I came across it on ACSearch while researching the example I recently posted(image attached) and was surprised no one picked it up at such a low price. In my case the coin was misidentified by the seller as Crawford 53/1 as well and the old collector's tag it came with also had it misidentified. I don't think there is any reason to be doubtful of either coin though, both I think are in line with the "CROT" issue as much as can be expected and in-hand I see absolutely no reason to doubt it. Their minting must have been separated by some time as the unsigned examples always have a trophy with a skirt and the signed examples always exhibit a trophy with greaves so I think some stylistic variance is to be expected. For the record my example is 3.12g.
