Leontini tetra ANS 248 withdrawn from Nomos

The coin has passed via a series of auctions and not just Lanz noted as provenance

I note CNG 2004, Lanz 2005, Gorny 2016. While Lanz and Gorny are a bunch of cretins, it is shocking that it passed from CNG and Nomos withdrew the last moment....

Since when is the forgery detection of CNG good, imho they are not better possibly even worse than Lanz and Gorny if you look how many fakes per 1000 coins?

What is wrong with the coin?

CNG description notes the hair as tooled in contrast to lanz, gm and nomos. I don't remember when was the last time cng had a greek silver fake not withdrawn in their sales. Good luck convincing lanz and gm....lanz sells loads of tooled coins and considers it normal business.

On the leontini coin itself there are not many specimens to compare to... If it is only the tooling it makes sense to withdraw it from an auction with 6 digit estimates of coins

We were talking about CNG what about this coin previously sold by fake seller restbazar on ebay and now for sale at CNG ?

Listing is already dead and so I only have picture of restbazar.

But here it is still accessable

So far all silver coins offered by restbazar were fake, he mixes now some authentic and cheap bronze coins in his offeres to make him look more reliable but his expensive bronze coins are all fake, too.

I was not able to find the host/mother of this transfer die fake so I did not upload it to forgerynetwork, if anyone finds the authentic host I would  really appreciate it if he could post it here.

Do you believe it is fake just because it was listed by restbazar? He also lists a decadrachm that was earlier sold by Hess-Divo. I believe he is using photos of coins he doesn't possess in an effort to make his shop look more credible and maybe if someone falls in the trap who know what will he ship...

He does not have this coins!

If he would have the coins he could use his own picture showing the coin and the picture of auction house

With a proof that he would actually have them, the chance to sell them would be much higher especially if the coins are so expensive.

Isn´t it strange if a seller who always used in  the past his own pictures which are generally superior to auction houses´s pictures uses now only pictures of aution house which are not good and old?

I have the transfer dies used to make many of his fakes.

My transfer dies do sometimes have die flaws and die breaks and scratches which are not in authentic dies.

This die flaws, scratches and breaks allow me to tell that all coins having them are fakes made with my transfer dies.

I do have some Sicilain fakes too, some transfer die fakes some modern die fakes and he has offer or sold some of them in past, too.

Expensive bronzen coins of him have artificial patina, I own fakes with same artificial patina sometimes even from same transfer or modern dies.

He often sells fakes from same transfer dies, you can see there often ghost lines where the flan/planchet of the host ends.
