HENRYCUS 3 Posted November 13, 2020 Report Share #1 Posted November 13, 2020 Good day to All! Could You be so kind to help me understand what type of edge should be on this sort of Carlo VI's 120 grana? On my coin I see smooth edge. But if this ok, or there was any edge at first but lately was removed? The weight is 25.4. Many thanks! Probably it was a hook removed, that is it was a pendant or brooc. But it is possible that it is also original smooth. Dovrebbe vedere in mano. It should see in your hand. Aspetta altri pareri. Wait for more opinions. OK? Grazie Edited November 14, 2020 by favaldar Quote Report

Anyway, I congratulate you for the coin, very beautiful and very rare ... Quote Report

ggioggio 357 Posted November 14, 2020 Report Share #6 Posted November 14, 2020 (edited) These coins can have the edge in circles and squares, creased and sometimes even smooth. I have the coin of year 1733 and this is the edge (look photo). Beautiful coin. I would have no problem buying a coin with this smooth edge. In the cut you can see an attempt at minting, some circles, or a tampering that is removed from the hook. In fact, in some places on the edge there is wear that resembles that of a hook removed at 12, 06 and 03. If it is smooth or worked only in the hand, you can decide, for me.
