Da Metaponto, un piacevole piccolo bronzo  con testa elmata di fronte di Atena : al rovescio, sulla foglia della spiga, un particolare oggetto ( cross-torch ) come simbolo accessorio .

E' stato a suo tempo in vendita CNG 106 al n, 18 .

Ho questo tipo ma con jna patina verde scuro. Diciamo che lo stile e’ un ‘far cry’ rispetto alle produzioni coeve e precedenti della regione ?

Il simbolo definito come “cross torch” in realtà è una groma agrimensoria.

Si tratta di uno strumento per tracciare allineamenti ortogonali.

C’è un interessante articolo riportato in Academia.edu scitto da Campana e Miglioli su tale strumento riprodotto anche su alcuni bronzi di Herakleia e su alcuni stateri di Locri
