"In our case, this is the tessera depicting the denarius with the wheel symbol on the R/; for the sake of completeness we must remember that it appears on the coins of Etruria, Luceria and Massalia, but is also known as the wheel. A purely Roman symbol related to the military field, the road system and roads: If we are careful, we can assume that the destination of these tesserae would have been the exceptional expenditure on the construction of one or more viae publicae between the end of the third century and the first half of the second century. 10,8 g. 22,2 mm.

A me, da ignorante di purezza cristallina, pare abbiano scritto un sacco di fuffa. Senza menzionare di che materiale è composta. pare di vedere tracce ferrose e la superficie non mi pare certo di piombo.

 

E poi: dove lo vedete il monogramma?

Come non lo vedi   ? Ma è proprio lì, basta usare il microscopio...

Ho voluto riportare questo oggettino solo perché lo ritengo una stranezza o una curiosità, che non ho mai visto... questo però non significa che sia realmente antico o che abbia valore.
