Asse con caduceo

Un pezzo che (non so neanche io bene perchè) mi piace particolarmente: un asse "veramente" sestantale (pesa 61 grammi), di dimensioni ragguardevoli (diamentro 37 mm, spessore di ben 7 mm).

L'ho comprato da Tintinna (asta n. 6, lotto 1001 invenduto, acquistato dopo asta) che lo classificava RRC 56, ma io ritengo che sia un RC 60/2, per il peso, per lon stile e perchè, a luce radente, intravedo un accenno del caduceo sopra la prora.

Il tondello è chiaramente realizzato per fusione; da ore 2 a ore 5 del retro si vede bene il segno dell'accostamento dei due stampi.

Concordate che sia un asse con caduceo (RRC 60/2)?

Avete idee sul perché questi assi siano mediamente più pesanti dei (presumibilmente coevi) RRC 56?

They are probably earlier than most coins we call RRC 56. I'm almost certain now that the first and heaviest denarius coins and the related heavy bronzes (both with symbol, and some anonymous RRC 56 types that weigh 50 to 70 grams), were being struck at the same time as the lighter coins from RRC 41, 42, 43, perhaps in 213 - 212 BC. The typical RRC 56 as, which weighs 40-45 grams, probably came from 212-211 BC.

I agree this is likely caduceus or victory. The deck structure on these coins is the same as on your coin. They are often very heavy.
