2012d "Acadia" quarter-dollar

Mi è stato dato un 2015 Redbook per Natale e fu verifica sul quarter-dollari di Park, guardando ciò che accadrà dopo, e come molti dei vari disegni le zecche stanno producendo. Le figure di conio, purtroppo, eseguire un paio di anni dietro la data di copertina dei cataloghi e sono sostanzialmente complete solo fino al 2013.

Ho imparato che la zecca ha un nuovo espediente per collezionisti: cosiddetta "qualità della circolazione" monete da San Francisco, ha colpito in limitati numeri e venduto ad un premio (che a mio parere li rende qualcosa non destinati a circolare. Così come è stato il caso, poiché il marchio di zecca "S" partì circolanti quarter-dollari dopo il 1954 monete, solo Philadelphia e Denver sciopero quarti per circolazione effettiva.

La distinzione è qualcosa di importante—per me, comunque—a causa di qualcosa che ho notato di questo quarter, il 2012d "Acadia" ha colpito a Denver:

Il conio è solo 21,606,000! (Qualche spicciolo dalla spesso 500.000.000+ al zecca, secondo il disegno ,che erano stato coniato intorno alla girata del secolo.)

Il tiratura piccolo mi ha fatto curioso, così sono andato attraverso i numeri di produzione. Si scopre che l'Acadia 2012d fu coniato per la circolazione nella più piccola quantità poiché questo quarto colpito a Filadelfia:

1958! (6,360,000) 54 anni...

I was given a 2015 Redbook for Christmas and was checking up on the Park quarter-dollars, looking at what’s coming next, and how many of the various designs the mints are producing. The mintage figures, unfortunately, run a couple of years behind the cover date of the catalogs and are substantially complete only through 2013.

I learned that the mint has a new gimmick for collectors: so-called “circulation quality” coins from San Francisco, struck in limited numbers and sold at a premium (which in my opinion makes them something not intended to circulate. So as has been the case since the “S” mintmark departed circulating quarter-dollars after the 1954 coins, only Philadelphia and Denver strike quarters for actual circulation.

The distinction is something important—to me, anyway—because of something I noticed about this quarter, the 2012d “Acadia” struck at Denver:

Its mintage is only 21,606,000! (Some change from the often 500,000,000+ per mint, per design, that were being coined around the turn of the century.)

The small mintage made me curious, so I went through the production numbers. Turns out the 2012d Acadia was coined for circulation in the smallest quantity since this quarter struck in Philadelphia:

1958! (6,360,000) 54 years….

that's interesting

As you know, I often go in the US and try to collect the coins that I miss in my type collection. I must say it is very hard to collect in this way! But gives a lot of satisfaction

Regarding the Beautiful Quarters, I've been lucky and I've found many of them in my last visits. But they're trying to make my work even harder lowering the minting :rofl:

Un divertente gruppo. Per lo più prodotti Philadelphia che immagino?

Circa i tiratura, esso ha fatto sembrare come se il basso punto era stato raggiunto con le monete di Acadia, e le figure di conio hanno cominciato ad aumentare drammaticamente piuttosto. Che non è certo, tuttavia, poiché le relazioni si è conclusa con il 2013, ma entro la fine del 2013 i quantitativi riportati erano ordinariamente 100+ milioni per la zecca, secondo il disegno.

About the mintages, it did look as if the low-point had been reached with the Acadia coins, and the mintage figures have begun to increase rather dramatically. That is not certain, however, since the reports ended with 2013, but by the end of 2013 the quantities reported were routinely 100+ million per mint, per design.
