proklès Posted September 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) Buongiorno a tutti, I've recently bought a nomos of Kroton during an auction (see picture attached). 30mm, 7,26 gr., 12h. This stater should belong to the first issues of the polis of Kroton. It is very similar to the SNG Cop 1736 but I could'nt find any coins struck by the same dies. I've searched in the collection of the BnF (cabinet des médailles), in the SNG uk, in the SNG Cop... but without success. Unfortunately, I don't have (yet) the SNG ANS nor the study of Attianese and couldn't check in these publications... Could someone help me to find a die match (and check in these books)? Grazie in anticipo! My coin is also visible here: http://coins.ha.com/itm/ancients/greek/ancients-bruttium-croton-ca-530-500-bc-ar-stater-or-nomos-30mm-721-gm-12h-/a/3042-32019.s?type=bidnotice-confirm Kroton_stater.bmp Edited September 29, 2015 by proklès
