IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG, rev., Sol radiate advancing left, raising right hand and holding whip, P M TR P X COS III P P, S C in the field (RCV 8003; RIC 535), almost very fine, with a great provenance. Provenance: William C. Boyd (1840-1906) Collection, Baldwin's Auctions (42), 26 September 2005. Purchased by Boyd himself from the London coin dealer Spink in January 1895.
