M. Six (Numismatic Chronicle, N.S. xvii, p. 170) suggested that this design has "been copied from a metope of a temple." (Greenwell, p. 59). Staters of this issue are well documented, however, hectes are exceedingly rare with only the worn British Museum example noted in Greenwell. Only one example in sales archives in the past 15+ years. The lararium's furnishings included statues of deities, especially gods of protection (Penates, Lars, Genii), the vessels, lamps and votive offerings used for the cult. Roman Imperial period, circa 2nd half of 2nd century AD. H. 17.8 cm, W. 1.59 kg. The bearded god stands on a six sided base with a semicircular niche on the front. Jupiter is naked except for sandals and a coat that falls from the right shoulder to the left arm in the back. In the hair a leaf wreath, the right held the scepter, in the left the lightning bundle. Next to the left foot a hollow tree trunk (a lightning?). On the base on the right a free-standing, small pillar, on the left and in the middle two curly nibble lares, one sitting in the alcove, the other standing, with a drinking horn and a bucket in his hands. La capra kri-kri (Capra hircus cretica), a volte chiamata capra cretese, è una sottospecie della capra domestica. Scavi archeologici hanno portato alla luce diverse rappresentazioni della capra kri-kri in affreschi o in pitture vascolari antichi e si ritiene che quest'animale sia stato portato sull'isola di Creta durante il periodo minoico (da Wikipedia). La kri-kri, pur di dimensioni poco più grandi di quelle di una capra comune, ha un aspetto maestoso: possiede una lunga barba e un mantello bruno con una banda nera che, dal muso, percorre la schiena fino alla coda; più o meno neri possono essere anche il petto e le zampe nel maschio, caratterizzato da due lunghe corna ricurve simili a quelle dello stambecco.
