La prima parte del nome significa «essere divino»; la seconda parte si riferisce alla sua natura di «sapiente». In Ahura Mazdā lo zoroastrismo esaltò alla dignità di divinità unica un’antica divinità preesistente, degradando al rango di demoni e di nemici di Dio le altre figure divine. Secondo l’interpretazione moderna in Ahura Mazdā è da vedere la figura del ‘Signore che pensa’, con riferimento a un pensare magico che costituirebbe lo strumento della creatività.

AHRIMAN. - E' nello zoroastrismo  la divinità malefica, lo spirito del male, in contrapposizione ad Ohrmazd, divinità suprema e spirito del bene. Nelle Gāthā, che sono le parti più antiche dell'Avestā  e risalgono con ogni probabilità a Zarathustra stesso, si parla di un "malvagio sentimento" (akah manah) e di un "malvagio spirito" (angra mainyu), che fanno contrasto allo "spirito pio" (spenta mainyu) di Ahura mazdā. Già con Zarathustra stesso l'opposizione dialettica del bene e del male ha portato la dottrina mazdaica, in origine strettamente monoteistica, a quel dualismo che nello svolgimento successivo ne diventerà il carattere, se non fondamentale, precipuo.

Estimate Value $500 - 600  This coin belongs to a somewhat mysterious bronze series struck at an uncertain mint probably in northwestern Spain. Based on the obverse titulature and stylistic similarity of issues of Emerita struck by Publius Carisius during his tenure as legatus Augusti pro praetor in Lusitania (25-23 BC) it is thought to have been struck between 27 and 23 BC, but there remains some question as to whether it should be treated as an imperial or a provincial issue. Since no city, people, or dynast is named in addition to Augustus, it has been suggested that it is a military issue connected to the first phase of the Cantabrian War (29-19 BC), which saw Augustus and then Carisius lead Roman forces against the Asturian allies of the Cantabrians in 26-25 BC. The round shield on the reverse was a typical defensive weapon used by Celtiberian peoples like the Cantabrians and Asturians in their conflict with the Romans. As the reverse type on a potentially Roman military issue in Spain, the shield serves both as an emblem of the enemy and perhaps as shorthand for the booty carried off and trophies erected after his defeat. I Kara Khitay, o Kara-Khitan ("Khitan neri") (1124-1218), furono una branca del popolo proto-mongolo dei Khitan, che aveva creato in Cina la dinastia dei Liao (907-1125). La dinastia fu fondata da Yelu Dasshi, che guidò ciò che restava della Dinastia Liao in Asia Centrale dopo aver evitato la conquista da parte dei Jurchen (o Manciù) della loro madrepatria in Manciuria. L'impero fu usurpato dai Naiman di Kuchlug nel 1211 e  definitivamente distrutto dai Mongoli nel 1218.

Al centro dell'illustrazione è raffigurato un guerriero Naiman che sistema il crocefisso che porta al collo. I Najman (in mongolo Найман) o Naiman furono un gruppo tribale centroasiatico-altaico, una delle maggiori sottodivisioni dei mongoli. Più di 400.000 persone della popolazione kazaka sono najman. In origine provenivano dal Kazakistan orientale. Alcuni Najman si distinguono dalle etnie dei Chirghisi e degli Uzbechi. Esiste una piccola minoranza di Najman in Afghanistan, che proviene dal clan degli Hazara. Costoro risiedono in un villaggio di nome Naiman e si professano sunniti. All'epoca in cui fu conquistata da Gengis Khan, la maggioranza dei Najman era cristiana nestoriana. Rimase tale anche dopo la conquista mongola e costituì la seconda ondata di cristiani ad entrare in Cina al seguito di Kublai Khan.

Nekht-har-hebi, or Nektanebo II as he was known to the Greeks, was the nephew of Pharaoh Tachos (Djedhor). Placed in command of the Egyptian army in Syria during the Satrapal Revolt, he turned his troops against his own king and took Egypt by force. In 351-350 he repelled a Persian invasion but was driven from his throne in 344-343 by a second assault. He fled Egypt and found refuge in Ethiopia and retained control of Upper Egypt for another few years. Nektanebo must have issued his gold staters for the payment of mercenaries as coinage was not yet in general use among the Egyptians. This stater reflects an Egyptian cultural revival, with the use of hieroglyphs on both the obverse and reverse. On the obverse is a prancing horse, an ancient Egyptian symbol for kingship. On the reverse, there are two hieroglyphs, a heart and a windpipe, nefer, meaning good, and a necklace, nebew, meaning gold. Thus this coin can be read as "the king's good gold."
