Hello,  I was wondering if someone could help me.  It is regarding this medal: http://numismatica-italiana.lamoneta.it/moneta/W-F211/26  I had just upleaded a couple of pictures for you.  I ran across your website a couple of days ago looking for information regarding this medal I just acquired.  It says it is "very rare".  Can you please elaborate on "very rare"?  I cannot find anymore information on this medal (La versione argento).  Your help is appreciated. Thank you.

this medal is a very beautiful production by the renowned by the Stefano  Johnson firm operating from Milan and today no longer active.  It pertains to the first phase of Pope Paul VI medals which was characterized by a clear rupture with the artistic tradition that had dominated the prior papal medals but luckily still not reaching the sometimes ‘iconic’ excesses showed in the later Pope Paul medallic productions.

 

the medal is very correctly described in the Macri’ volume. It is rare like most productions of this first phase and especially of this diameter. Its market value though does not reflect its beauty anda rarity mostly as a consequence of the very limited demand.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just found/purchased another one of these medals in Golden Bronze.  Should complete my set of bronze, golden bronze and silver (not sure if a gold one was made).  Can anyone point to more information on these medals besides this: http://numismatica-italiana.lamoneta.it/moneta/W-F211/26  I know "numa Numa" above mentioned the "Macri’ volume", but I am not sure what that is and Google has not helped.  Any additional information/literature is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
