Iside e Serapide a Flaviopoli (Cilicia)

Oggi vi mostro l'ultima arrivata, un bronzo di Flaviopoli (Cilicia): 10,87 g. e 29,50 mm.  E' un'emissione di Commodo, il cui busto compare al D, con la scritta: ΑΥΡ ΚΟΜΟΔΟC ΑΝΤΕΥΤΥΧΗC (qui in gran parte illeggibile).

Al R invece stanno i busti affrontati di Iside e Serapide, mentre la scritta recita: ΦΛΑΟΥΙΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ ΕTΟΥC  ΔΙΡ, dove l'ultima parte indica l'anno di emissione. Non l'ho cercata nel RPC on-line, ma è presente nella Coll. Lindgren al n. 1500.

Flaviopoli era un centro di modeste dimensioni nella "Cilicia pianeggiante", non lontana dal fiume Pyramus.

AYT KAI ΚΟΜΟΔΟN ΑΝΤ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΦΛAVIOΠOΛЄITⲰN / AIP Draped bust of Isis, on the left and wearing lotus, facing draped bust of Serapis, on the right and wearing kalathos. RPC IV.3 online 3574. SNG Levante -. SNG Paris 2184. Ziegler 1249-1250. Rare and with attractive earthen highlights. Light scratches and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
