Adriano quadrante

Recommended Posts

Glenn Woods (vcoins) vuole 27,25 euro per questo quadrante di Adriano. Li vale?

Grazie mille

Hadrian, 117-138, Bronze Quadrans, RIC-II-688-S, Cohen-443, struck 125-185 at Rome, 4.68 grams, 18.5 mm. Fair

Obv: HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS - Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right

Rev: COS III - Lyre, 'S' in left field, 'C' in right field

While low condition, this issue is especially scarce and appears to have either been struck in Rome and shipped to the east, like cistophoric tetradrachms or actually minted in Antioch. Deep black patina with rough surfaces.
