KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’. 336-323 BC. AV Stater (17mm, 8.49 g, 6h). ‘Amphipolis’ mint. Possible lifetime issue, struck under Antipater, circa 330-320 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right / Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; in left field, trident head left. Price 175. VF, ex jewelry, rough.

Posto le foto di una monete MOLTO DUBBIA. A mio avviso si tratta di un evidente falso di statere in oro di Alessandro che associa "ibridamente" il dritto di un conio per Seleuko I Nikatore zecca di Babilonia con un rovescio zecca di Amfipoli per Alessandro. La moneta pess 8,56 gr ma a mio avviso non presenta minimamente tracce di coniazione. Non solo, le lettere del rovescio sbilenche e "vaghe" nonchè i dettagli grossolani sono indice di una vecchia forgery.

Resto in attesa dei pareri dei forumisti (Apolonnia etc...).
